I truly believe that yoga is for everybody. If I had a pound for every time someone has told me that they are too inflexible to do yoga, I’d be a very rich woman! The thing is, saying you’re too inflexible to do yoga is like saying you’re too hungry to eat. If you’re inflexible, that’s the whole point!
Being too inflexible to do yoga, is like being too hungry to eat food.
It doesn’t matter if you can’t touch your toes, yoga can help you increase flexibility, reduce stress, improve mental health and increase muscle strength and tone. Yoga is an excellent accompaniment to strength training, running, cycling and pretty much any other form of physical activity. Not only can yoga help improve athletic performance, it can also minimise the risk of injury.
