RECIPE: Power Coffee - One Complete Life

This Power Coffee, which was inspired by Bulletproof Coffee, is the reason why I manage to be (mostly!) energetic and cheerful when training clients at 5 am. Full of healthy fats and protein, this coffee packs a punch and makes me feel awake and full of energy. MCT oil increases endurance, so this coffee is the perfect pre-workout. Usually, this is all I’ll have for breakfast most mornings as it keeps me going for hours.

I know you’re going to read the ingredients and think “WTF?!?” but trust me, this Power Coffee is delicious!

Power Coffee

Servings 2 Cups


  • 1 5cm slab of unsalted butter from grass fed cows Preferably raw
  • 1 large organic egg
  • 2 tbsp MCT oil
  • 2 tbsp organic double cream
  • 1-2 drops Holy Llama vanilla spice drops


  1. Brew two cups of coffee, using your usual method.

  2. Stick the egg in a blender and whizz for a few seconds.

  3. Add the reamining ingredients and the coffee and blend for 10-20 seconds until frothy. 

  4. NOTE: If you have a Nutribullet style blender, you need to follow a slightly different method as you cannot add hot coffee to a Nutribullet. To make Power Coffee in a Nutribullet, brew your coffee as usual, then melt the butter in a microwave. Blend the egg, cream, MCT oil, vanilla spice drops, and melted butter in your Nutribullet for 10-20 seconds. Then stir the mixture into your hot coffee. 


This is the butter I use – it’s the best I’ve found so far in terms of quality and taste, but any organic unsalted butter will do. For more on why it’s important to get organic butter, read this post.
